Hello,
I am looking to remodel a bathroom in my house and need a new tub.
There are many companies with many models offered, (webpages) but there are very few displays (big box and specialty stores) with more than a couple units. They have them stocked in a warehouse, but are not at the stores where you can physically see them.

I want to actually see them to make the decision. Anybody here know of a place where you can see them either on display or in a warehouse?

I am willing to go anywhere in the Sac Valley, Bay Area or down to Monterey if needed.

Thanks in advance!

Whatever you do, pass on the cheapo acrylic. Their too fragile and flex too much. I went with the American standard steel bathtub earlier this year and glad I did.

Go to Tubz in Fremont, I believe you need to make an appt online. I did,  they have more on display than any other shop. On acrylic, I put 2 in in 1999 used daily till I moved in 2019, still perfect. Just did my baths in my new to me house in Livermore and did acrylic again. Not all acrylics are cheap although the upscale acrylics cost more than the steel tubs. And acrylics need a little more work on the install, like being set in a mortar bed, not so bad really.

I should add tho, some of the acrylics are really nice, on the other hand the steel tubs are bulletproof so to speak.

Go with a Kohler or American stard cast iron tub and do tile surround. After COVID most of the acrylic and fiberglass tubs went to crap. Most of the ones we get are either damaged or had a bad mold with weak spots

If you're in Sac, there's a store called Ferguson's that has a pretty big showroom of kitchen and bath stuff. I don't recall whether they have bathtubs on display so you might call and ask. I think it's on Madison right off I-80.

I know you didn't ask but I would stay away from American Standard for your bath fixtures. We had bad experiences with their products.  That was 10 years ago and they may have improved since then but based on our plumber's rec we chose Delta for our latest bath remodel earlier this year. Our plumber said Kohler is also good but we chose Delta just based on design/style.

Thanks guys for the information. I can’t say about the Ferguson’s in Sac, there is one in Santa Rosa which we’ve been to.

They only had a couple tubs in the showroom, but tons at the warehouse “elsewhere”. I’ll call over there to see, plus we are going to make an appt at Tubz.

Any other options are welcome!
