Greetings anglers. I’m Matt.

I stumbled upon this site while searching for kayaks for sale. I recently went fishing with a few friends for the first time using one of their kayaks for a weekend. What a great experience it was. Just being out on the water just cruising around and fishing. It got me wanting one of my own to get out on the water. I’m a total novice when it comes to fishing and I’m lookin forward to learning more about it.

I used to go fishing with my dad from time to time when I was a kid in our family boat but it’s been a long time since then.

What’s up Matt—let me know when you get a yak, I’d be happy to fish Pacifica with ya.

Thanks guys. I’ve been looking at inflatables recently since storage at the house is already a premium. Something somewhat entry level to start with.

Any recommendations?

I’d be happy to fish Out of Pacifica. I’m lucky enough to have the beach less than a 5 min drive from my house. Sadly I haven’t taken advantage of that yet.

I doubt that an inflatable will be a good long-term solution.

I agree with NM.  Fish spines, hooks and launch/landing are all potentially fatal hazards for an inflatable.

Someone was just selling a used OK Scupper Pro on here cheap.  Keep your eyes peeled for deals, and go test out some SOT kayaks at demo days or where a shop will allow it.  If you start with something too cheap you'll be back to buy a better one before long = most peoples' experience.  Go get something with high potential = my advice.  You sound like you've got the bug - kayak fishing is addicting and so very enjoyable to many of us.

Best of luck~
