Anyone know how the Bolinas beach is looking? Last year was a little sketch at high tide. Heard some reports a few months ago that there was more sand, but I wasn't sure if that is still the case. I'm considering Bolinas as an option for a weekend salmon hunt, but want to know if there are any high tide risks during launches or landings. Don't want a repeat of last year...no lost gear or damage, but it got "interesting" at one point navigating the kayak in front of the wall after landing on the beach.

That's a start. Any idea if you still need to be cautious with high tide?

I was out there a month ago..... came in at a higher tide.... some sand but still dumped it on landing..... always have to be careful unless it looks like a pond.... this day had about chest high sets and one got me..... would have done the gymnast dismount but had to try to collect the yard sale.... lots of folks on the beach watching.....fun.

I was also out there a month ago and there is considerably more sand compared to last year. At that time, I estimated +1.7 feet as the limit for a beach landing in front of the wall. According to my tide chart, this would occur at 11:40am tomorrow. You can always land to the right of the wall or potentially the lagoon if it looks sketchy in front of the wall.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep that in mind when returning to land.
