I arrived 5:15 to make sure I got my favorite park spot. The Ecology cleanup crew was gone so my choice of space. First drop at 6:16 S of Hog. Work the area all the way to Toms Point. Bite at Toms and a nice one, 36 inches. Hooked a 12 inch ling cod or rather should say, snagged, followed by a bat ray. Drifted the incoming back to S of Hog and called it a day. Saw one PB net a fish. Lot more boats out today. Parking  lot was jam packed full on my return.

Awesome fish; congrats! Were the winds as bad as forecast (per Windy, anyway)?

Wind was not bad. Very little breeze in the early morning. More at noon but fishable. Windy isn't always accurate for Tomales. If it says 20 knots NW then one knows it will blow but if it says 12 knots it may only be blowing 8.

Charles you are a fishy dude :smt001. There has been a hot bite in the Marshall area. Lots of shakers and jellies too.

Nice looking fish. Do you mind sharing what bait/lure that caught it? That excited me to go out tomorrow. thanks.

Lots of bait around hog by the eel grass.  Send a sibiki down and you should have more than enough smelt/anchovies for the day's fishing.

I use swimbaits but live bait is probably a notch better and not as much work. You have to constantly work the artificial and after 5-6 hours it becomes tiring. The plus side is as soon as you get out there you start fishing, not spending time trying to get live bait and keeping them alive.

Hi Charles
Nice halibut.  We need to hook up soon.
My wife and I love to check out your art gallery one of these days.
