Hey - I have the Noco Genius G750 charger, and it's been great for years.  I've gone through a number of 12V/9ah lead brick batteries over the years - figured they can only take so many charges.  Now though it seems that all of my half dozen or so lead bricks will charge for a bit with the orange light slowly flashing, and then it'll go to error mode - alternating the orange a red light below it.  When I plug the batteries in to my FF everything works.  What's up with not getting the green light on my charger that should indicate full charge?  Did the Genius finally go bad?  I've seen links for resetting a charger's memory, but I can't find info on why that would be done - could it be what I need?

Thanks for any hive help that's available.  First World problems, right?!

Mine has been doing the same thing off and on now for maybe a year. - I think it is maybe 5 years old??? I just checked and I have a green light showing a fully charged battery.

I always check to see that I get a charging indication when I plug it in and I never get an error right at the beginning -- it's sometime later on. But like you, it seems like it always gets to a full charge and I haven't had any problem on outings yet.

So I guess the point is you're not alone :-)

Cheers,
Brad

If you have a voltmeter, check with that to see if you are above 13v after charging or if it's less I would for sure think there is an issue. Still not sure what it is though  :smt044

Test the voltage when the error code shows, then test it a bit later and see if it has any more voltage.  It could be a phantom error and the charger is still working just fine.

Thanks for the advice, fellas.  I guess I have to go "advanced" and get a volt meter.   :smt005

I'm late to this party, but I had this same problem with my NOCO two years ago, and had to return it for a replacement. It was in fact defective and they did replace it with a new one, which has worked fine ever since.

Thanks for that.

I seem to have resolved most of my issues by just persisting with long trickles.  Eventually 4 of my batteries are green lighting again.

I have one that I keep on the Man Van battery.  I've been using it for 3 or 4 years and haven't had any issues.

My NOCO Genius charger has been working great for years. Mostly used on the fish finder but it's currently on my truck battery as we speak due to a crapped-out alternator.

That is a standard way to try and wake up an old or over depleted battery.  Force it to trickle after it cuts off when it reads the high voltage by unplugging it and plugging back in.  But I thought that Noco Genius chargers did something like that by default if you keep them on the charger after they reached full, but I could be wrong or mislead by marketing slang.
