Pop’s (double amputee) got a Hobie, we rigged him for trolling. Is the places I have things tethered strong enough to hold, the batteries in the box are lithium ion so there not that heavy. I was told not to trust the little plastic Hobie seat clip so tethered to the carry handle. And H bar fir the light weight watersnake. Also is the motor deep enough? He has plenty of shaft to go deeper.

I'm no expert, but I'll weigh in.

For the battery box and it being secure I have used the stock bungee and rolled in the surf with a heavy fish bag, drive, net, 2 plano boxes with too much gear and probably more than that. The stock bungee held everything in place. That being said, if you were to get the hobie rear H-Rail to replace the bungee you then have a solid mounting point for eyelets or other options. I'm currently working on using aluminum gear tracks to span from one rear H rail to the other, which keeps my fish bag level, and I have space under it for gear. I dont have any pics handy right now though. If you did a similar I think that you could put a cross bar right over your case, keeping it secure. https://www.meltontackle.com/hobie-h-rail-upgrade-outback.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6-v4wL2K-AIV7yitBh2w2wytEAQYAiABEgLsAfD_BwE

I havent had an issue with the stock hobie clip. Yet. But better safe than sorry.

For depth of the TM you may get weeds stuck between the prop and hull, It doesn't look like there is a lot of room there. The trade off of course is you lose draft by putting the TM deeper.

I’m not expecting the bungee to hold the battery, more concerned that the para cord to the back clip will hold the box to the boat so we won’t have to go after it, I think the pelican box will easily float with the light batteries in it , likely hood of him flipping is slim but gotta prep for it.
