The vultures perched on the cross in the Fort cemetery  heralded an ominous greeting as we drove into the Fort at 8 am.  Conditions were still as we proceeded down to the cove and the sea beckoned as we launched.  Two quick strokes of the paddle, and we were through the ankle slapping shore break and gliding across the morning glass.  I sparked up the Matrix 17, and we headed for 100' outside the cove.  From there on the action was nonstop.  Fish after fish, nice reds, some big blacks, and one ling that came off when I was lipping it at the boat.  The wind started howling by noon, so we reluctantly headed for shore bidding a fond adieu to the cove.  As we sat on shore enjoying a cold premium local brew from our friends at the Lagunitas Brewery, Capt. Matt said to De Weasel, hey Weasel, did you have a good time?  De Weasel looked over at a huge vermi on his stringer, and with a satisfied grin on his face, he took a draw off his brew and said "oh yeah."

A great time as usual with Lost Coast Joe and De Weasel. The vultures were wrong again and we all made it back to shore in one piece. The wind was howling but the fish hit just about anything we dropped down. All the usual, swimbaits, irons and shrimp flys. Color didn't seem to matter. Hey Lost Coast, when you going to finish that novel you have been working on for years? I cant wait to read the finished product. Till then I will just have to get by with your fishing reports. later

Matt

I was watching you guys through a borrowed pair of binoculars from Red Barn. I meant to bring my radio just in case I saw someone out there but forgot it in my rush to get out of the heat. Glad to see it was NCKA'ers out there.
I did an easy ab grab between Stillwater and Ocean Cove that day.
PERFECT weather on the coast. Never saw the fog from Saturday afternoon until Monday when we came home.

Hey Tote,
What kind of visability did you find on the ab dive?

Steve

Top to bottom a GOOD 15 feet. Since I am so friggin' out of shape all my abs were spotted from above. Three dives=3 abs.
I did spend some time surveying the terrain as I never dove in this particular spot before.
