And, never go on the ocean with this boat!

Or any other body of water more than 2' deep.

The planter box is a great idea! Better to have the boat pushing up daisies than the boater.

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Thank you all for the feedback, especially on how to set up the beer lines for the combo planter/garden bar with a disco ball!

Gotta figure out a better storage option before I pull the trigger on a boat. Gotta keep it away from the critters.

I'm amazed at what those figgin things will eat.  Two 50' lengths of air hose into 1-2' pieces, my car cover and a bag of golf balls.  How (and why) they ate golf balls is beyond me.

I would not bother.
Not that it cannot be done, but guaranteed every time you are OTW and the tiniest thing doesn't seem right you will always be wondering, "Did the patch fail?"
For me it would be worth the peace of mind.
Also, my life is worth at least the cost of a new hull.
I am gettin' up there on the age scale so I would gladly pay not to have to swim to shore.
Bite the bullet and not have to cry about it later.

I wouldn’t bother either . Sorry about the kayak.

I opened the hood of my wife’s car to replace the struts and it was full of shit the rats scattered all over the top of the engine

It also dismembered and ate some kind of bird on top of the battery and pulled the red cap off the positive

Now im worried about the electrical harness which i think will cost a fortune to replace if they get at it

Anybody know a good recipe for rodent eradication?

I'm in a never ending war with rodents. If I could, I'd build a moat and fill it with boiling oil, but we're on a hillside...

A friend of mine, who no longer posts, uses mothballs to protect the vehicles at his work from mice.

Well, it's not the most caring solution but if you want them dead you use poison, good ole rat poison...
