Early season obsession

It has me. Opening weekend of rockfish and salmon was too bumpy for me in the ocean. Now I can't think about anything else. Supposedly I have a job during the day, but you wouldn't know it by the time spent looking at forecasts and making sure every piece of gear is ready. Got a hali at OP a few weeks ago, which was great. Got some crabs one day this winter, but they weren't fish. All I can think about is getting out to try for rockfish and lings at Capitola or Santa Cruz next Saturday, 4/16, probably starting out in the dark because I'll wake up super early before the alarm even goes off. On 4/2 I was so eager to get out at the point called oyster that I was on the water with my mega headlamp 1.5 hours before first light...and eagerly awaiting the company of some other vessels on the water. The Pacific is the greatest adventure on earth if you ask me. Man doesn't live on bread alone; he needs fish and salt water and waves and marine wildlife all around. It'll get out of my system eventually, when I'm dead, but I'm posting this for therapeutic reasons to soothe the fire in my head. Here's a Yeats poem about fishing:

I used to try and fish 30 days a year. Almost made it once.
last year I think I hit it maybe 9 days. I need more
