I had the good fortune of hooking up with Bob Neal, Scwafish, Bluefin17 and a couple of Sean's relatives to fish the Mendo coast.

Bob and I were on the water first at the crack of 8:30.  Fishing was very good until the wind came up.  Got to fish until about noon or so but that wind was really howling.

I kept 2 nice vermillions at 22 and 23 inches (7 lbs) and released 4 others in that same class plus a few smaller vermillions.  Caught and released four lings all about the same size in the 29 inch range and the usual assortment of blacks, gophers, olives, and we even found an area full of canaries.  Nothing ruins a good fishing spot faster than a school of canaries.   :smt011

My action all came on 7" swimbaits in lime green with the orange tail and in anchovie color all tipped with a squid strip.

Nice day on the water... wish the wind would have held out longer.

Went home and made fish tacos ala Chefstefano using his recipe that was in Western Outdoors May 2007 issue.  Absolutely Yummy...

Here's a couple pics.
