Looks like there *might* be a small window Saturday morning to get out before things really get nasty, but the forecast is changing every minute. I'm on standby for a quick run out to mile buoy for a chance at an early season flatty. Anyone else up for a quick jaunt? I'm thinking launch from west harbor at 645 and off the water around 11, but will make the final call Friday evening when the weather models hopefully come to agreement...

Wind predictions on Surfline are for “funky” but they hardly ever get it right

We’re still hoping for some decent surf Saturday morning so getting out the jaws there could be fun one

Thinking of going out tomorrow (Friday) morning but if that doesn't work out it would be great to meet up and go out on Saturday.
Let me know if you end up going Saturday.

Thanks

I happened to be at the SC harbor around noon yesterday and saw a kayaker fisherman landing at the A dock. He seemed to know what he was doing, although he’d never heard of NCKA. He said he’d been out by the mile buoy and then west, but had no luck with halibut. The swell seemed to be on the large-ish side, and there were even a dozen surfers near the harbor entrance.

Thanks for the intel NWM. The forecast models are still all over the place, but the NOAA nearshore at the mile buoy looks good...

Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming WSW 5 to 10 kt in the afternoon. Showers. Mixed swell...WSW 3 ft and SE 2 ft becoming SSW. Wind waves 1 to 2 ft

That forecast is a definite go for me, but I'll probably turn those showers into a downpour  :smt044 If I stay home it won't rain a drop...

Decent surfing up at Linda Mar today, wondering how things were at SC

We will be surfing Santa Cruz tomorrow, interesting mix of swells rolling in for Sunday including 11’ at 9 seconds wsw and some smaller longer period
