Sand Crab Classic

Fished the Santa Cruz area for the Sand Crab Classic and had a great time as in years past.   The tides to me were tough as well as the fishing - lots of bites, short strikes,  and dinks but no solid derby fish.  Used soft-shell sandcrabs, motor oil grubs, gulp camo sandworms, lucky craft pointers, and kastmasters.  Mainly  fished Manresa beach , Sunset beach area, etc.. I was excited after the derby to have the bbq chicken lunch again as it is always the bomb and got me in the right mood  before the drive back to Sacramento area. I donated a couple of things to the raffle as I support the charity.   Many thanks to Allan (Bushy) and all the other numerous folks that help put on this great event that supports a worthwhile charity (Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Project)
 that enhances our future fishing opportunities in that area.
