New to kayaking and fishing. Been lurking, but I need to reply to some posts so posting an intro. (Hey, just being honest)

Looking to get an oasis. I did test rides on the compass duo and the oasis, and in terms of maneuvering in the water, and speed, there was no comparison. Hands down the oasis was just the better kayak. Compass duo wins with storage with more room in the back, and being a little wider.

Hi from San Francisco..
Would love to connect with anyone who goes out in Pacifica once I get something.

You can learn a lot just lurking, but you can benefit way more by being an active member of the community.  Welcome!   :smt001

Welcome Kmngq!  Your looking for a tandem kayak for your first yak?  Will you be going out with someone most of the time, or solo?

thanks AlsHobieOutback!

yea, its actually more going to be a family kayak than a fishing kayak.
ill be going out with my wife and toddler and dogs, if permitted.

other times, ill ask some friends to go out crabbing/fishing.

Oasis is a great kayak. I currently own two Oasis (one in Sacramento and the other in LA). My wife and I enjoy going rockfishing with them. Very stable with Hobie Sidekick. Highly recommend Sidekick.
If you have any detail questions regarding Oasis, please let me know.
