Near Hammer Island on Old River off Clifton Court Forebay.

So far fire rescue boat cant reach him (low water) they have requested a Helo for short haul rescue.  At least they have cell phone contact with the kayak

if you have pulse point you can listen on ALCO Fire

ETA for Coast Guard helo is 2120. once they get overhead the plan is to hoist him out

Coast Guard Rescue swimmer is in the water with the Kayaker.  per engine 8 They just hoisted them into the helo.  He called for help at 630pm. in the helo at 10 pm.  That's a long time out there in the cold I hope he was dressed for it.

10-15 yrs ago when I used to fish out in Suisun Bay solo I contemplated what it would be like to have to spend a night out there on a mud bank. Changed my planning a bit, but never came close.

This is a great case demonstrating the dress for the worse scenario.
