This is my first season crabbing with nets (guess why) on my Revo 16. I noticed that whenever I put them behind me, there’s some chance they’ll snag in the cleat hooks (those for the bungee cord at the back).

Same thing in the front; they snag in the cleat hook next to the mast receiver. So to solve this problem you simply make a small loop from a piece of bungee cord, and wrap it twice around the hook. Easy on/off, waterproof, lightweight and cheap.

I don’t find those cleats useful and replace most of them with the padeye version.

That’s also a good idea. I’m thinking about experimenting with that. I work with the bungee a lot, especially for strapping things pre-launching and landing. Also to hold my drive when I tip over the kayak to get the cart in, or when I stow the cart in the scuppers. I wonder if using the pad eye would have any impact on that

It takes a bit of experimenting to find something that works, as you can't just loop a bungee over the padeye, like you can with the cleat. In any case, they are ridiculously expensive right now, so unless you have a few extras around, might be best just to go with the default settings.

Of course, you can always add non-Hobie nylon padeyes for a small fraction of the prices, and even stainless padeyes are way cheaper than Hobie...
