Anyone knows if it's legal to daisy chain snares.  I'll going to try snaring off a kayak.  If it's allowed, I'm thinking 2 snares per line, just to try something different.

I believe there's been a thread on this before and the consensus was that it's not legal since you'd have more than 6 loops per rod. The workaround would be to just use two rods instead.

Oooo, my kind of language…I asked dfw straight and got the green light.  I used to run 3 snares, 6 loops a piece off a surf leader.  There is no limit in snares, just loops per snare.  Beware, I’ve casted from shore and forgot to engage an open bail and the dreaded 45$ snap was heard for miles.  Running two is more realistic.  My mind toiled with visualizing if they’re laying flat by lead placement or if it matters.  If your high snare is 3ft off the bottom can a crab just pull that snack into your steamer at home?   The amount of drag on 3 snares calls for 50lb top shot and a pretty good reel drag on full ish.  I dbl dog dare ya’ to get that snare limit.  3 crabs stuck on one rod is massive cranking in my estimation, only cuz I’ve cranked in two with a one snare setup and that alone is forearm cranking chaos.   :smt006

I was very excited about this idea at first, but thinking more about it, wouldnt it be better to just use a second rod so you can cover more ground? Im not sure the extra loops in the same location will be worth much unless youve hit the jackpot. So overall two rods may produce more is my guess?

”Speak life” I say!  I’m working on a liquid to freeze picked crab that retains its texture and flavor.  Stay tuned… :smt006

I'm thinking 2 snares per rod.  I'll bring 2 rods.  I make my own snares, so if it snaps off, no big deal.

Thanks for the clarification - I'd be interested in seeing the setup for 3 snares on a rod. #snap
