Got up to pyramid with a buddy for an annual trip. We usually head north to warrior point and surrounding areas. We tried south this year and launched out of popcorn beach.

Not red hot, but catching fish dragging gear along the bottom between 35-60 fow. Most action on frog pattern Lyman, then the chartreuse as the sun got higher.

Right on, Evan.  That's a spot I'd love to explore someday.   :smt001

It’s a fun fishery, save some time next October or early November. That’s a great time to target them from a kayak. I can let you know about next years trip as the planning comes along

Large Lyman lure, the older ones made of wood are the best, newer versions are plastic and have a less erratic action. It’s a plug that will dive a few feet on its own. I fished them right on the bottom using a DR on one rod, and a 3 way bounce ball rig on the other. Both setups produced fish and have pros and cons. The DR is hands free, but has to be adjusted frequently to keep the bait close to the bottom. I run an S troll pattern along a drop off that went from 35 fow out to 60, so frequent adjustments are needed to keep it in the bite zone.

The bounce ball is self adjusting, and you can work the rod to encourage followers to turn into biters, but it had a tendency to dig into the soft bottom when the depth came up abruptly. No lost gear, but I was slow to get used to it and jkept thinking I was hooked onto a monster!
