I used to love going to REI, but a lot of the products I liked, they discontinued, and their warranty exchange became a hassle.  They do still sell clothing for bigger guys, REI brand, so I still go there, but not nearly as often.

Used to be pretty good, before they tried to become the Neiman Marcus of outdoor gear. But, there are some bargains on good stuff to be found on occasion.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

I haven't been in an REI in years, but am looking forward to having this option close yo home.

I just drove by there today when taking Valentina to her orthodontist appt....right across from Moe's, where the Toys-R-Us used to be.

They are also a Hobie dealer (if you're into that)  :smt004 that said, Kayak Connection has always had a full (well, mostly) lineup of things Hobie.

They are also a Hobie dealer...

All I've ever seen on their website are the Passport and Compass, and just a few other odds and ends.

Is the size the same as the Marina REI? I feel like Marina store is small. I agree w the comment Neiman Marcus comment above. I mainly go for the clearance section hiding in the back or behind the false wall panel next to a unicorn or leprechaun. Nothing like being excited to check out an outdoor recreation store only to be debbie downered by MSRP MSRP MSRP.

Unless I’m impatient and desperate to have something. Like I did the other week. And many times before  :smt003
