Howdy!  Got out at 0730 this morning with a buddy.  Conditions were great, clear, sunny, warm, wind from the West at 4. Swell was 5’6” at 9 seconds.  Launch was easy, sets were spaced well.  We went South , both of us picking up a keeper ling as our first fish, both on swim baits.  Lots of small anchovies everywhere as were smelt and jellyfish.   We hit the south pretty hard for an hour or so but it was pretty slow only picking up a few canaries there.  We decided to head back to North of the Fort.    Switched to shrimp flies and picked up a solid rockfish limit, my buddy stayed with the swim bait and got two nice verms as part of his rockfish limit.  Wind, chop and current all really got going around noon and we headed back.  Landing conditions similar to the morning, landing easy for both PA14s.  Good times.

Nice report! I bailed last Saturday to work on a house project and avoid the possibility of getting too wet. Looking carefully to see if any of the rest of this week looks like a go. Anyone going this week?… fishing w a partner is a requirement for my wife. 😁👍

The Fort is such a magical place.   I’ve had some fond moments there and great fishing.   The history alone is incredible.   Had whales under my yak up north, had rough seas chase me off the North.   Fine fishing to the south on the reef.  Buddy nailed crab with one crab pot set deep.   Zero vis fog before GPS was the rage.   Ab diving back in the day.   Surfing just south in the next cove.   Lots of good times.
