Hello NCKA! Greetings from Roseville, CA. My name is Tony. Just picked up a Vibe Shearwater 125 looking to pop my ocean kayak fishing cherry. Anyone interested in helping or joining this noob? I'm not new to fishing nor kayak fishing but never ocean kayak fished before. I usually paddle my Lifetime Tamarack around the lakes and Sac/American River. My goal this year is to get on some rockfish and maybe my bucket list Lingcod! I'm usually a Lone Ranger so if anyone needs a partner in crime, don't hesitate to hit me up. Easy going, friendly, chill guy who doesn't drink or smoke. Picked up an old used trailer for some yard work now trying to rig it up for the kayak. Tight lines all, be safe, and take care.

Hey Tony, welcome to NCKA! Best bet is to get ten posts and then keep an eye on the Hookups topic. Then go for a protected launch like Half Moon Bay, or Timber Cove. Avoid surf launches until you have a lot of experience, or some surf zone classes.

Thanks for the warm welcome all! Mark L, for sure no surf launching yet for this newbie! I was eyeing Half Moon Bay or maybe Alameda Rock Wall area and stick to the protected bays.....on a calm glass day! Lol! But I've been baptized in Sac River and Tahoe before so I'm ready for some salty holy water! Kidding....Hopefully not any time soon! 😉👍

Welcome Tony!

I had a friend named Bob, he tried spelling his name backwards for his handle too. It didn’t work out as good as yours!!
