After postponing a trip Sunday the 13th due to south wind, I couldn't pass up yesterday's after-the-storm forecast.  Slept in and got down there after 11AM to find dense fog but a nice ocean.  Sonar took a dump on me - good timing that it didn't happen on a guide day.  I executed my plan of staying nearshore and prospecting for Californians - not many being caught down there yet, and Humboldt Bay is also slow to show for the flatties.  Managed to scratch one out - barely legal.  Fog lifted a bit by the time I was working the Tailgate Fillet Station.

Commercial guys have seen a couple of GWS within 3 to 5 miles of the launch lately...

Busy weeks coming up - looking forward to it!   :smt001

What does a fishing guide on on his day off? Go fishing of course.
Love the pictures Eric. Hope to make it to the cove next weekend.
It has been too long.
