Isn't it a requirement that all shark sighting posts have to include whether or not a shark shield was in use?

I only recall one encounter with a Sharkshield deployed. It was the Inn Keeper, he turned it of to dislodge a hook, and got slammed for the third time. You can read about it in this thread:

Inn Keeper nice guy  , probably forgotten more about fishing and gear than most people will learn ..but yeah he's a magnet , so don't fish near him ...wink   ;-)
SharkShield was off when he got hit, so I guess we never know  if SS is working (although if the stats are correct, it is working) :)

I saw a big one off of Pedro but a few miles out

The video of Linda mar is a bit disturbing, looks like they snoop around right where we are lined up in the surf

that's the thing.  huge lineups of surfers float around everyday. 

i'd be much less concerned on a kayak.
