Did an initial scout of the San Quentin launch site. Doesn’t look too bad getting to the water. Tide was about -1.6 when I visited. Anyone know if there’s a mud walk in store if you come back at low tide? Looked like the case but I wasn’t prepared to walk out there and get a real-time sample this AM.

Think he's talking the San Quentin Beach launch.
Its very flat out there on a low tide.  Its mostly sand up by the grassy area and rocky cliffs, but its likely mud out further.  So I suspect it to be a mud walk on a negative tide.
I think the bigger issue would be parking.  There's no long-term parking there (over 2 hours) unless you park in front of someone's house, which could be private or very small parking spaces.  Its a very small neighborhood and I'm not sure how they feel about random cars parking directly in front of their houses.

I’ve launched by remillard park there’s a little bit of parking off sir Francis, it’s where the wind surfers launch . It’s pretty rocky and on a strong negative you might get a little muddy but not too bad.

This is the spot I was talking about. Thanks Loebs. I’ll give it a try when the tide isn’t swinging so low.
