So I got ahold of the Shark Shield folks. They told me if I ship it to Sydney, Australia, that they can send me a refurbished one for half-price. However, I went to the UPS website and entered all the details for shipping.

Total came to $275! Does that make any sense? Is there a better way to ship overseas? At this cost it would be cheaper to just buy new.

Thanks,
Andrew

Quote through DHL.  They're usually cheaper for overseas shipping in my experience.  Also, quote through USPS.  I have never found FedEx or UPS to be attractive in overseas shipping.  Pack as compactly as possible.  Weight usually matters less than dimensions.  Insure for the price of a new shark shield.

Just tried DHL. In a shoe-box at 3.5 lbs, it's $161.

oof! I can't believe they no longer have a US presence.
I think I shipped mine to LA county, it was like $28. I got the impression that it was someone's home or apartment.

Dont do it.  Ask them to see if you can ship it to Minnesota.  They wanted me to ship to Australia and I said no and ask to ship to Minnesota.  They said OK, both times.
