P.S. He also taught me how to give a firm handshake while looking the other person in the eye

Definitely agree with you Johnny .

With covid it is understandable that people have gone to the fist or elbow pump. For me, if there is neither of the mentioned.  I feel no connection or bond with the other person. That's ok. To each his own.

I guess I am pretty Old School myself in that those gestures mean a lot to me.

For some reason these types of topics remind me of Mooch. The few memorable times i enjoyed his company it always stood out that he held no barriers with me or that i had anything to prove to him unlike some people i have met.  :smt001

As a Law enforcement officer, I often see the worst in people, especially young ones. But I will say recently, I have started to see some hope in our youth.  My oldest daughter is a teenager and I recently met everyone in her friend group. Several of the boys came up and introduced themselves, shook my hand like young men and said, “it’s really nice to meet you Sir!”  Every time I see them, they come up to me and shake my hand and have something positive to say. I was floored because I just don’t see that very often.  There apparently are some parents out there still teaching manners.  It is a shame that someday, I will probably have to  kill one of them. (Mostly kidding).
