Looks like leak has stopped ~4:40pm but was leaking 5 gallons per minute for over an hour and forty minutes plus.  :smt013

Chevron called it "600 gallons of a petroleum and water mixture."  Let's hope it was bilge water or oily-water separator waste.  At least that would mean lighter oils and easier cleanup.

Nothing worse than the old sewer lines that leach into the bay on a daily basis for many many years now.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Do you think that spill will travel up into the delta? Man I sure hope not.

Most likely not.  First it was only 600 gallons.  Second, it was oily water mixture, so fewer than 600 gallons of actual oil.  For it to be an oily water mixture, it needs to be lighter oils -- backed up by the type of sheen you see in the aerial photos.  Lots and lots of resources around Richmond for this sort of thing, too.

If you want to support an org that does a lot to keep the SF bay from getting more polluted, check out https://baykeeper.org/

They do a lot of monitoring around the bay in boats and with drones, keeping an eye on polluters. They also recently sued some south bay towns to clean up their waste water discharge. They have something to say about this most recent disaster too:

I find this so disappointing and unacceptable on many levels.

Whoa, I was crossing the SR Bridge earlier this week heading into Richmond and thought I saw this; figured I must be hallucinating.  I guess I need to listen to the radio once in awhile.
I'd rather be swinging...
