I'm Scott Miller from Livermore, Ca. I am retired from the commercial roofing business and am now a full time almond farmer.  Farms are in Oakdale, Ca.  I have just purchased a New Town 106 pdl kayak.  My goal is to get set up with proper clothing for delta fishing and to get my kayak set up for fishing.  I am hoping to meet other kayak fishermen who fish the south delta, especially Discovery Bay and Italian Slough out of Lazy M.  I will probably stick to Discovery Bay until I get used to kayak fishing ( no wake areas ).

Looking forward to meeting other fishing oriented kayakers.  I will be focusing on the south delta ( discovery bay ).
Noticed in fish reports that many anglers seem to be ocean fishers.  Is the board heavy to ocean kayaking?

Welcome!

Around Bethel Island, Sugar Barge and Russo's marinas are popular kayak and boat launch facilities. Several bass fishing tournaments are based in the area which is not that far (by car) from Discovery Bay.

I have kayak fished several times in the area.  The sloughs and rivers are too big and the boat guys get along well with the kayakers.  Many of the fishing spots are 5 mph zones too.

Good luck!

Tom
