If anyone is looking for a good rudder for 2019+ outback I would recommend SAI rudder. Much stronger than the plastic one it comes with. They also make fish finder mounts for the outback that work well. In the pics you will see the before bent up rudder photo and after with the XL rudder.

That's awesome! It looks like they have some other cool gadgets too:

I wish they made an aluminum rudder and gudgeon (the plastic doohickey that the rudder attaches to) for the AI.

<rant>
IMHO, the gudgeon on the AI is a bad design by Hobie, as it puts a lot of pressure on the pin that holds the rudder in place. As a result, the pin breaks much more easily than it should. Worse yet, it slowly wears out, so instead of snapping due to some catastrophic event (as is supposed to be the case), it can break under normal load. And, replacing the rudder pin solo on the water is a major PITA...

Forgot the link thanks. This is the fish finder mount that fits into the outback rails.

That's impressive quality stuff that they sell. I sent an email requesting that they make an AI rudder and gudgeon and they responded within minutes saying that they'd look into it.

I'm interested in the XL version but I use the loading block to load/unload my outback.  Did you make the modifications to the loading block it mentions on the website?

I did not. When I first got it I used the loading block but stopped using it. Just need to give your brain a mental pep talk that you can lift this heavy bitch lol.

Hi fellas, thanks for the interest in the products.  I am the owner of Snipe Air Industries.  I'm a little back logged at the moment with chores but I am happy to look into solutions for you guys.  This was the first group that got me into the kayak scene.  I've been trying to get out to the events and meet all you but you know... Covid.   I did place in the top three at crab fest the last two years, maybe we met there?   Anyways, I just wanted you guys to know SAI is one of you and I look forward to seeing you on the water!

Oh, I am super excited about this new mount for the Ketch Kryptonite boards.  You can mount it almost anywhere.

Just checking back to see if anyone has some feedback on how the aluminum rudder is working for them?  Thanks.

Just placed an order for the minnow mount & the armor plate 200,...the perfect rigging solutions for my new boat. Stoked these are available! Looking forward to fully supported downriggers and super stable mount for either finder or rod, or whatever.
