Heya,

I'm Fen (IRL name John, though I'm not a fan of my real name). I joined here on the recommendation of a good place to buy a used kayak and equipment by a retired kayaker-coworker who used to be a member with ya'll. I do not have a kayak, yet. However I am looking strongly at the Hobie AI for the support + sail. I haven't fished in over a decade and I have no experience on saltwater, though fishing is something I've always enjoyed and I'm tired of living a life where I can't have anything for me.

I've got a crab pot that I'd like to drop as well as looking to invest in a rod, finder/gps, w/e else I need.

I look forward, and kindly ask for any advice and support anyone may offer me in the future and greatly appreciate everything! I would also like to find a partner/group that I may be able to join so that I may gain experience and have the safety of being with others in case something disastrous happens. So if you've got room in your group or go it alone and wouldn't mind a newbie, please feel free to let me know! ^.^

I'm probably going to start with dropping a pot and eventually grow into fishing (starting with smaller fish and eventually going up to lingcod eventually I hope). So if you need a platform to carry gear, initially I could be it after I get the car/kayak situation sorted, lol. ^.^

I'd likely launch anywhere from Pacifica down to Half Moon Bay, possibly extend up towards Bodega Bay and Monterey Bay areas. Main issue is transportation (I have a Kia Rio and need to get a rack strong enough to support the main hull of a trimaran + mast, rest can probably sit in the cab).

I'm looking to have my rack installed on my car (if it can handle the weight of the AI) in December and probably buy the AI shortly after or at the latest February/March (unless I can get an appointment and the vessel is on sale for black Friday, which is highly unlikely).

Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day and thanksgiving!
