We're starting to look for a camper van (like Ramvan campers)  something that we would be able to fallback on if, for whatever reason we loose our home (Fire, flood, quake, etc)  Needs to be a van, as we cannot park a regular RV at our current home.  Any ideas?

We have been buying old conversion type vans, building to suit inside. Incognito campers. We did van life before it was cool. Our current toy is a 1999 dodge ram van. 2 removable captain chairs in the middle. Big fluffy bed on a platform and totes to store gear under the bed. Leave it loaded year round and are ready to run off and camp/play at a moment's notice. Build your own van life toy and hit the road! This is our 7th van build. We flat wore the other 6 out!
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I have a '99 Ford E350 7.3 diesel with extended top window van in Crescent City. School handicapped van with lift. 138K miles. Tow package. Two new batteries. Runs great. Current CA registration. $7,500. Great potential for van build.

I was going to do a build on this one after traveling the country in a similar cargo van I outfitted until my wife bought a van that we're still paying off.

I keep my Roadtrek fueled and charged in case we need to "bug out".  Roadtreks are great, fully self-contained vans but unfortunately, 10K isn't likely to get you even an old one.  The good news is; they don't depreciate nearly as much as typical RVs.  If you can find one at a price that works for you, you won't regret it.
