Hey Guys,

Been a ripper summer so far down here in SD... recently released a nice 25-30# class yellow tail.

Check it out!

Dude, that was a sweet vid. Even time to wipe the camera lens mid fight, that says pro! I gotta admit though, the hamachi lover in me cried a little (partly from joy?) watching that beautiful fish swim away. Maybe it just reminded me of all the ones that got away...ha!

Thanks for the video man. I gotta ask- I see that you've stuck your thumb in its mouth no problem so I'm assuming it's bite is not scary, but that thing's mouth was right next to your crotch while you were setting your fishing rod down. You weren't nervous about that at all?

Ya the yellowtail have teeth similar to largemouth, kinda velcro-y. No risk to thumb them. I would not do this with the majority of fish we catch around here. As far as biting my crotch, no that's not a worry either. I have been bitten by halibut before, but typically with a big flatty, i'm bleeding out dead before I ever bring it in the boat. The bigger risk with a fish in your lap is if it slips the gaff and goes crazy, you can get stuck by the gaff or by the hook.

Thanks for watching!
