This may be a dumb question but:
When installing a transducer in the hull of a kayak, does the transducer need to be submerged in water?  As the Garmin Striker instructions are not geared towards kayaks.  Was told to epoxy a tupperware in the hull filled with water and put the transducer in that.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

I started making mounts for the Garmin Transducers to fit Hobie Lowrance Ready plates. I know its annoying to have to DIY a solutions that just rusts apart, so after making my own and seeing how well it worked I figured i'd start seeing if there was interest in them by others! only $20 shipped or $15 picked up in Redwood City.

They fit all models of the Garmin brand transducers (just let me know which you have so i can get the right one to you) (pictured is just the GT20 model).

I glued my Hummingbird transducer down to the bottom of the hull inside my Cobra Marauder and it worked fine. I put it inside a 4" PVC coupling to protect it from other stuff inside the boat.

Hey do you make one for a Hummingbird Helix 5? They have adapters but everyone is out of them. Will probably be inventing something here before too long. Just bought a REVO 13...

I dont have them currently, but depending on what they look like i can whip one up today and have it in the post tomorrow.  would you be able to post some pics with a ruler showing the mounting locations?

When you remove the transom mount part (with the X through it), can you just measure the width of that part that sticks up (marked with the red lines)? And then the diameter of the hole as well. Im assuming its spec'd for 1/4-20.  Shoot me a PM
