Still catching Salmon in the Sac River.
I want to try the Barge Canal jigging for salmon or stripers in my kayak.  Anyone planning to go this week or next week during the week?

I'm planning on giving the Barge canal a try on Thursday morning.

What are the best tides to target on the barge canal? Outgoing or incoming?

Usually the outgoing.  Fresh water scent draws the salmon towards the gates.

I might be interested in going on Friday if anyone else wants to go!

I’d like to head out to the barge canal Friday. Won’t know for sure til Thursday. Looks like high tide is just after noon. So probably an afternoon fishing trip. I’ll check back here tomorrow.

Spent the morning out at the barge canal and deep water channel.  One keeper striper and a few shakers on live bait.  No luck jigging at the beginning of the outgoing for Salmon.  There were a few jumping around the launch, but didn't see or hear about anyone hooking up.

Sounds like they are still out there then. I might head up tomorrow for the afternoon!
