Spent the day cruising around the buoys in HMB- enjoying the view and avoiding election jibber jabber.
I spent the morning rising tide running a medium anchovy on a rainbow clear FBR. It was held down with a deep diver with 5 ft of leader. I did my best to keep at 3 nautical miles an hour because thats as fast as I apparently on my older Mirage. It wasn't until noon that the wind picked up that I got any hits.
Smelt after Smelt after Smelt, I pulled into the yak. 5 in all.  Finally, I realized that all my anchovies were gone. I changed up to a smoke Apex. The wind got stronger, so I pulled it for the long troll home.  All to no avail. It took a good hour to get in due to wind, but it really wasn't that bad. Ive seen worse in the bay.
I was hoping to see a salmon as the last few days of the season are upon us, but alas... it was just a beautiful day out on the water. If I knew where the Lings hide, I probably would have sunk those smelts.
Maybe next year.or, if I can pull it together in the next couple days.
