Been a pretty good weather forecast out in Sonoma County for a few days so decided to make the trip and hit the coast.

On the water at sunrise with only a few other kayakers out, absolutely flat calm but had to contend with some fog that wouldn't burn off no matter how hard the sun tried. Rockfish bite was a bit slow to start as the tide went slack in the morning, but picked up some decent size blacks and blues to take home. Once the tide turned and the fog eased up a bit making it feel safer to fish some slightly deeper water my buddy and I were able to get out 2 ling cod a piece and picked off a variety of rockfish with 1 nice red in the mix.

There was a ton of bait in the water, with a couple whales moving through. Had to be aware of the stringer most of the day though with so many seals chasing anchovies. All around nice day, hopefully a few more before rockfish close for the year.
