your brother writes well. boy you guys are the irish? family of novels and stuff aren't you?  :smt006.

This guy McCosker irritates the hell out of me. what an ass.

The researchers need to remember that they are paid because somebody threatened the lower middle class with Jail if they didn't pay their taxes, and that's who pays them, as they are the tax base of this country.

unfortunately arrogance seems to go along with making a living off the tax payers...

He's like, no I won't tell you much of anything, but you need to keep paying me to play with sharks.

and his NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) comments are plain nasty. He's like the kind of person that says
"minority group X should live somewhere, just not in my neighborhood". and then struts around piously.

 :smt013

The info about the sharks hanging out 2000 miles to the SW between baja and hawaii during the offseason
was new to me.

So have they been tracking them? Where's all the info on this?

It was also the first article that pretty much says straight up that the numbers are increasing.  duh.

Also interesting that a local depletion of sharks caused attacks in that area to drop off precipitously.

I guess andrew put this here because  he couldn't find the GWS thread buried down in the Fish Talk Forum?  :smt003

I'm glad you like his writing...I'll let him know he's getting props from the kayak board! I actually like McCosker...he knows his stuff about sharks and if he says that cage diving for recreation disturbs the sharks, then he may well be right. And if it skews his data in some way then I don't blame him for not wanting the cage divers.

Commercial fishermen like that McHenry guy piss me off..."There's a bunch of sharks in the water - I might as well kill all of them." He should be strung up and skinned alive for what he did. Or at least drawn and quartered.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...
