Launched around 7-8am, (MBK) paddled out to the yellow buoy. It was a little breezy, making it hard to stay over the fish that I was marking. Also it was the GF 1st Ocean trip so I was keeping an eye on her. She had to watch Shark week, and read the post of Bean Hollow.  :smt005  She did great and relaxed and was able to land her first RF. I got skunked, but it was a nice day to be out on the water..

After we called it a day I met Ben and his sons at MBK, always nice to meet a fellow Norcal guy/gal

I must have just missed you and had run into and met Ben on my "late" launch. I had a time of it against that rather nasty wind, but still managed to bring dinner home with a nice black and gopher before calling it a day. I think Monterey must have been the only place on the coast with sun, when I left S.C. it was very thick and low vis, but got to MBK with nice and warm conditions-except for that wind....Going there next Friday 8/10, but early next time.

Those wind waves made water choppy. It helps the slowdown to deploy a drift chute if you have one.

reading about shark attacks, watching shark week and still goes out.  She has some serious female cahones!

She's definitely a fishing fanatic, now I just have to teach her how to clean the fish.

I do have a wind sock,    left it in the truck.   :smt009
