I was passing by Pacifica this morning and decided to walk out along the cliff and scout for signs of salmon. Didn't see much. A big raft of non-feeding birds and some dolphins, but nothing else.

I did, however, see a dorsal fin and tail right off the boat docks. I watched with a few locals as it surfaced multiple times over the course of an hour or so.
I was guessing 10' based on the dorsal-to-tail distance, but someone else said more like 7'. Hard to say. I have a brief video below.

Thanks for sharing. I saw your post on the Monterey fishing/dive pages on Facebook and the whole spot burning rule is stupid. Though I can see what their trying to do, most of us know the rules whether written or not and what constitutes as good sportsmanship. This is part of the reason I miss the Humboldt group instead of all of the bs that comes with fishing/diving out near Bay Area.

Wait, there are sharks out there?

Nope... just two mola molas playing follow the leader while the one in front is dragging a few giant kelp stalks.  Just mola molas...

+ THE STOKE IS REAL!!!!!

all signs that the next thing you are about to see is lame.  Just like the drone video of sharks swimming in the ocean.  Riveting and enlightening stuff.

Epic = extending beyond the usual or ordinary especially in size or scope

That video and/or sighting does not meet the definition. I'm going with Sonny on this.
