Hello fellow yak fishers,

New to the forum but not new to fishing; I'm a grey beard born and raised in California, North and South.  Fished all my life, inshore, offshore, half day, long range, tropical, temperate and everything except arctic waters.  I'm a diver too.

The big news is I just picked up a used 2014 Hobie Pro Angler because I want to see what this pedal drive is all about.  I've paddled for years on the Bay in an 80's Welsh built Wye Islander (18') and fished it a few times but a sit in is a tough row to hoe fishing wise (gotta strap everything to the deck or hang is off the side!)

Looking forward to learning from you all and helping out when I can.  True story- I was a custom rod builder and certified reel service person as a young guy in SoCal.  Worked part time on party boats too.  Been in the Bay for 35 years and raised my kids here but I sure miss the tuna and YTs in the southern waters.

Regards,

Tim

Hi Tim!

I grew up fishing in warmer waters too and although I miss it, not sure I could go back. My brother used to work at crystal pier growing up. Those were some fun days.

Take care and hope to run into you!

Welcome, fellow gray beard (although, to be honest, mine is more like snow white than gray...).
I don't like stuff that sucks.
