I think the speed of your memory card may also influence the recovery time between pictures:

Quote
High speed memory cards
High speed memory cards capture digital images fast. The higher the speed rating, the faster a digital camera writes images to a card.

High speed cards are designated with a ratings such as 24X, 40X, 80X and more. They are also indicated by terms such as "ultra" and "pro." Besides fast write-time, these cards provide maximum performance when using a high-speed continuous (burst) mode or shooting high resolution videos.

High speed cards: not for every digital camera
Not all digital cameras benefit from the use of a high speed memory card. Using one with a speed rating faster than recommended by the manufacturer will not increase the speed in which images are processed. Still, some purchase high speed cards for other reasons:

images transfer faster from camera to computer using a memory card reader
may use the faster card in other electronic equipment
plan to use the faster card with a future camera.
Check the camera manual, or contact the manufacturer, to determine the maximum speed card your camera takes.

Also if you press the shutter button down halfway and hold until the breach, then there's no pause.

I'll leave it up to Bluekayak should I accept Joels fried down version of the bounty picture or should he have to step up and actually buy me a lunch? :headbang:
