Where are you grounding the light because on my 2011 fifth wheel I believe white is hot.

Thx for your response Mojo...

the tester I’m using either shows red or green-my question is which is hot red or green???  I’ve tried on both black and white.......................??? Someone gave the test light to me-now if it would’ve been just a regular white light tester it would’ve been simple 😂 light comes on (hot)

Give me a tree and I know exactly where it will land (logging) walk into a Softub booth and you just might go home with a Softub (sales)  but electrical-if it sparks it’s hot 😂 shorted out a fuse that way already... also my dad used to make us check the electric fence with our hands as kids to make sure the horses didn’t get out... hate anything that has to do with electricity 🙄 LoL

I’m thinking white is hot but........

As Mojo asked, what are you referencing the light to, or better yet, where is the wire from the test light connected to, the chassis?
An easy way it would be to go to the battery with the test light and test it referencing it to the same point as you do fro the fridge wires.
Plan B could be the purchase of a $5 harbor freight multimeter, which would enable you to check voltage, resistance/continuity, including horse fences  ;)
Good luck !

That's worse than getting zapped by a shark shield!

Im not familiar with your tester but I would guess that red is hot and green is safe. You could always just use the back of your hand lol

Red is hot, Green is ground.  Reverse your leads and see that the color changes from Red To Green.  The sharp end is the end that the light is referring to.  So if it's green, the tip of the probe is touching a ground wire and the other end is connected to a hot/12 volt source.  If the light is red, the tip is touching a hot voltage, 12 volts and the other end is touching a ground.

However, a voltage display is better;

Makes sense thank you...sweet tester.... thanks

I was standing in line at Napa auto parts last week and a guy in front of me for some reason thought I was before him, I assured him that he was in line before I was and thanked him! While standing chatting about what we were there to purchase-I told him I was there to get a test light, he said he had one in his car and asked if I wanted it... He’ll yeah was my response hope he didn’t lose his place in line!!! it was a busy day!!! Seemed like a NCKA kind of guy to me  :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

Thanks Again my fingers were getting numb from grabbing (hot) wires 🙄😉😂

Ex-wife calls: how do you fix the light above the bathtub
Husband: first fill the tub up with water.  :smt044

Hope all goes well, are you working on the 12v or 120?

Working on 12v/120 it’s a norcold 2 way 5.5 cu their largest one they make...had it in my old lance camper...I had purchased it/installed it then my camper fell apart...used it maybe 10-12 months-to replace cooling unit on my new/used 2001 lance was going to be  5-600 bucks so why not right??? Just wish I had a young mans back and wrists 😂😉 And a few other things HaHaHa

Thanks for your input appreciated  :smt044
