TL;DR version:

I've got a 2014 AI that I bought used late in 2015. The previous owner didn't fish, but he sailed a lot and apparently pushed the boat pretty hard. As a result, the sail has seen better days.

The official Hobie sail costs more than $700. When I saw the Intensity sail listed for a price of $99.99 (plus $30 shipping), I thought it must be a joke. Online, there are a few good reviews of their sails, so I decided to take a chance and order one. I just got it yesterday, and it seems to be of surprisingly high quality.

Hopefully, Ill get it installed and tested some time this week. Whenever I get it out on the water, I'll post a review here. But, I thought I'd mention it now, as it's supposedly on sale, and so it might cost more in the future.

That's a ridiculous price. Anything Hobie costs an arm and a leg. I wonder if these guys will get sued for selling a Hobie replacement part.
 

I don't see how this would be any different from Hobie trampoline replacement.

Actually, I installed the sail this morning and got on the water in SC at about 9:00am. Fishing was slow although I did hook 1 halibut, but lost it at the boat. Sailed in at about 12:30 or 1:00 with a decent wind. The sail performed really well. I’ll post some more details later and maybe a short video too.

It seems like a good quality sail.

But, I ended up putting the old sail back on. I can't use the mast topper since for some strange reason, they made the strap at the top a couple of inches shorter than on the real Hobie sail. This means that the mast topper won't fit, and that's needed for the Hobie spinnaker (which is nice to have on light wind days).
