Looking for information on availability, if existing, of any adaptive equipment that would allow paraplegic individuals to kayak, obviously with close attention by friends. If so, I would think it also more prudent to have paraplegics kayaking in AI's with amas to prevent/minimize any risk of overturning/falling into the water.

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Mark is a stand up guy!
I bought his book 20 years ago and have had personal dealings with him.

He really got into adaptive paddling helping out others.

Mike, I just realized the kid is quadraplegic, not paraplegic. So he probably needs a someone to actually paddle/peddle for him.

My friend Mike Copithorne is a Fly fishing Guide who owns his own outfitter up in Redding, he also has lost the use of his lower extremities. He uses an inflatable pontoon with oars and can navigate all sorts of water with it. Moving rivers, Lakes, and bays are no issue for him, but help is required with the launch process. (getting it out of his truck into the water, and helping him into the seat from his wheelchair) I have gone with him to assist with the launching process in exchange for rides across putah creek to the side many cannot normally access :P  It seems like a really great option for him and i'd imagine many others would appreciate the added stability pontoons provide
