Ive broke 2 hawg troughs in 2 years so i decided to make my own invincible one. I just got a flat piece of aluminum from the depot and bent it with the help of a vice and torch. Then just scored it every inch with a razor knife and marked every 6in with a sharpie... should last forever with a few sharpie touch ups!

That's a great idea. I have broken and repaired mine several times. The next time it breaks I'm going to make one like yours.

Looks good, now I have another project on the list... :smt044

If you find the marker wears off too fast, paint markers can often outlast sharpie (obviously not the water-based ones).  Those are what I used to make length marks on my speargun.  Could probably run over the scored lines and get a scrimshaw effect that would be easy to read and durable.  I know they make a "professional" sharpie that is longer lasting also.

That's a great idea.

+1

But it needs to be at least twice as long for the fish that I plan to catch...
I don't like stuff that sucks.
