This is encouraging!
On a recent trip to Big Blue on the beautiful Sonoma co  coast I caught a starfish, no big deal but when I turned it over guess what it was eating, a PURPLE SEA URCHIN!
I had heard that starfish are the urchins  enemy but never knew how they ate em? Well I guess they just open up that hole and suck it up!
As you know the purple sea urchins are creating havoc on the
NorCal  Waters. This is a good thing to see, I just hope they’re ALOT
Of starfish making a comeback to make a dent in the Urchin population
Time will tell.

Neat! I haven't seen this before. There is surely no shortage of food for starfish if they're feasting on urchins, hopefully the seastar wasting disease slows its spread.

Hah haven't seen that before. The last few times I cleaned rockfish they always had little crabs in their guts though- I guess it made them more delicious!

We reely need more Sunflower Stars (Pycnopodia helianthoides)
Those giant echinoderms make the biggest dent in my opinion... hammers works too
