Doran Hali

Finally left the Sierra trout fishery and ventured into the ocean in a yak today for the first time.
Went to Doran with a long, long time friend and fishing buddy, Sledge.
Was fortunate to land a couple Halibut!  Damn, what a rush!
I farmed a few more, but I will cut down on that in the future, heh.
Had a blast watching Sledge attempt to land a couple threshers, damn, they can get airborne!  Maybe something more then 20lb leader next time?

Thanks to Sledge for putting me on the bite with what I needed to have a successful day and thanks to the whole of NCKA for having me be ready and comfortable from a “ Safety First” perspective.

Way to go on the extremely successful first ocean trip. Going with an experienced kayak fisherman is definitely the way to go. Thanks for the report.
