After a wonderful time last week at HMB, I was itching to go back.  I checked the forecast for today and it looked like it was going to be a calm day.  I ventured out for the first time to the green buoy, then a bit further to the red buoy.

Fishing out there is amazing!  There were so many bites relatively close to each other ~10 - 15 minutes apart.

I had a couple of hook ups with something which felt huge, but unfortunately in my haste to bring it up to the surface, the leader broke both times.  On one occasion what I brought up was a tiny rock fish, so I wonder if I had hooked the small rock fish and in turn something bigger tried to eat it.

In either case, I was able to bring home 8 good size rock fish.

good stuff! You most likely had a hitchhiker ling on that small rockfish. "Sharky" Bean Hollow is another great place for RF which is south of HMB.
