I'll be fishing solo tomorrow, launching from Del Monte beach just north of Monterey Bay kayaks. So if you see a bald old fart with a white SUV there at around 6 AM come over and say hello.

I wish bald old fart could join you, but I can't get out tomorrow...

I'll be fishing solo tomorrow, launching from Del Monte beach just north of Monterey Bay kayaks. So if you see a bald old fart with a white SUV there at around 6 AM come over and say hello.

And the fish report is...... Skunked! My plan was to work the beach around the hotel for halibut. The water was off-color reddish brown. Is that what you guys refer to as a red tide? It didn't have the funky smell I associate with red tides down south, but it certainly didn't look right. Not much life there.

I noticed about 5-6 boats straight out in deeper water so I went to check it out. There might have been squid on the meter (vertical streaks). I didn't make the effort to jig for squid. None of those boats appeared to be hooked up.

One drop my anchovy was taken by these these squishy white things. What are they, juvenile squid?

Anyway, it's spaghetti tonight for me.
