Wondering if there is any launch spots around the usal beach/sinkyone area? Looking at usal beach seems like it has no protection. Seems very remote so not sure if anybody even fishes yhere

I'd be curious about that too. Plan to run that road in the next summer or so, once I get (or build) a rig that can handle it.

I love camping out at Usal, but you’re right... It’s a very exposed beach. And as you know, if anything were to happen out there you’d largely be on your own.

If you head out there, stay safe!

Usual  beach is a shore break beach, meaning those waves break right on shore. That said typically if you can get past the first wave or two they don’t break very far out from my experience there

Indeed, looks like it would be all about timing and weather.
I've done Monastery in Monterey county a few times and know it can be wicked dangerous on the wrong day...

I did a scuba dive beach exit at Monastery in 1985, we still laugh about it.

I used to dive at Mortuary beach back in the day.  Definitely not the easiest exit, even on a good day.
