My name is Matt Pearson and I have been doing a teensy bit of yak fishing on the Russian river in of all things a Hobie Tandem Island. I am an avid High Sierra fisherman and found myself on the Russian river from time to time and decided to cast a line in a more serious attempt. What a tough river! Hooked many, but landed few. The kayak helped change that and I am now gearing up for fishing in the bay. I will probably launch from China Camp as I am used to that location, but who knows. I am still working through how to do this withe sail and lines. We will see.

I have a new yak coming soon and cant wait to take the plunge! The photo is my first yak fish...well...keeper anyway.

Matt

Welcome to NCKA Matt.  Congrats on the first fish on a kayak, and the future purchase.   :smt006

Hi Matt, welcome to NCKA, quite a few on the site are using Hobie Sailing kayaks, so feel free to post your issues. I'm sure they will respond.
